Bill Buholzer awarded Distinguished Partnership Award
Bill Buholzer was awarded LGMA's Distinguished Partnership Award at the recent conference in Penticton. The award recognizes Bill's work with the LGMA Approving Officers Committee, including its annual seminars held in conjunction with the LGMA conference, the Guide for Approving Officers, and the highly successful week-long School for Approving Officers held in Kelowna last fall.

Bill Buholzer elected as Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Planners
The firm is pleased to announce that Bill has been elected as a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Planners.
Election as a Fellow of the Institute involves a rigorous nomination and selection process, and requires support from across the country. Bill's nominators, the Planning Institute of British Columbia, the Fellows Selection Committee and the Institute Council all believe that Bill has demonstrated a high level of excellence and achievement that has contributed to the advancement of both planning and planners. Bill will be formally inducted into the College of Fellows at the Institute's conference in Montreal on October 3, 2010.

OCA ruling on municipal representative participation on regional government boards
The Ontario Court of Appeal has recently held that municipal representatives sitting on regional government boards or county boards may vote and participate there on matters directly affecting their municipality and such apparent conflict is not a violation of conflict rules since the Legislature designed the conflict into the governance model established by the legislation.
