Pat's Biography

Pat holds a B.A. in English literature from U.B.C. and graduated from the U.B.C. Faculty of Law in 1987. She articled with a large downtown law firm and has practised at Young, Anderson since 1988.

Although Pat has a general solicitor’s practice, her primary focus is on real estate law of all kinds and she has experience in complex property transactions on behalf of local governments. During election years, Pat's practice expands to giving advice on election procedures.

From 1994 to 2001 Pat served on the board of directors of the Government Finance Officers of B.C., a non-profit society incorporated to educate and facilitate communication among local government finance officers. From 1997 to 2000, Pat served on the Executive of the Municipal Subsection of the B.C. Branch of the Canadian Bar Association.

Originally from Medicine Hat, Alberta, Pat has traveled extensively and worked in Montreal at McGill University and in London, England. She also worked as a computer programmer in the U.B.C. Department of Oceanography before entering law school.

Pat's recreational interests include spending time with her SPCA rescue cat, Edgar, and choir singing.  She serves on the board of directors of the Robert Community Choir.
