Kate's Biography

Kate is an associate at Young, Anderson. Before joining Young, Anderson, she gained experience in municipal law through working at a local government in the lower mainland and at a law firm. Kate has a broad municipal law practice.

Kate holds a law degree from the University of British Columbia. As a student, she was introduced to municipal law through working as a research assistant on a project about ‘smart cities’. She was a clinician at the UBC Indigenous Community Legal Clinic and worked at a regulatory body.

Before law school, Kate studied philosophy and political science at the University of King’s College in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Outside the office, Kate races sailboats and does crafts. Kate volunteers as a board member of a non-profit ‘ocean community centre’ that aims to facilitate low-cost, inclusive access to ocean-based water sports.
