Report Writing: The Dos and Don’ts

Effective report writing is an essential skill that every local government official must have. This session provides an overview of the law relating to freedom of information, solicitor/client privilege, and the implications of Canada (Minister of Citizenship and Immigration) v. Vavilov that local government officials should have in mind when drafting reports. We will also provide tips on how to avoid (or, at least, strategically address) legal issues with the content of reports.
