City of Surrey Appoints Ethics Commissioner
The City of Surrey has taken the bold move of creating an Office of Ethics Commissioner for the benefit of its Mayor and Council, and its residents. The City’s Office of Ethics Commissioner is the first of its kind in British Columbia.
On July 14, 2020 the City announced the appointment of our partner, Reece Harding, as the City’s first Ethics Commissioner. As many of you know, in recent years, Reece has been in the forefront in discussing the need for reforms around elected official responsible conduct in British Columbia local government.
Reece is excited to take on his new role as the City’s Ethics Commissioner, while continuing as a partner at Young, Anderson to provide our clients with the high level of legal services they have come to expect of him.
We congratulate the City on its bold move in creating its Office of Ethics Commissioner and its appointment of Reece to the position.
