Young, Anderson offers a collegial atmosphere in which articled students gain relevant practice experience as a continuation of their formal education. We seek to attract and train outstanding law students who will continue with the firm as associate lawyers.

Articled students take on work in all core areas of our practice, with a roughly equal amount of litigation and solicitor's work in a program that is less structured than that typical of larger firms. Students who have an interest in a particular area of practice are encouraged to explore that area under the mentoring of one of our lawyers. Young, Anderson encourages students to attend and participate in seminars for our clients, as well as to attend and help present Continuing Legal Education seminars.

Our compensation package is competitive with that of other downtown Vancouver firms of our size. Young, Anderson pays tuition fees for the Professional Legal Training Course (PLTC) as well as full salary during the course. Students also receive extended health and dental benefits, as well as disability and life insurance coverage. Articled students are given two weeks' paid vacation during their time at Young, Anderson, in accordance with Law Society guidelines.

Per the Vancouver Bar Association timeline the 2025/2026 Articling Student application deadline is Friday, June 28, 2024.
