Marcela joined Young, Anderson as an associate in October 2025. She maintains a general municipal law practice, with a particular focus on construction law and litigation.

Prior to joining Young, Anderson, Marcela practiced for five years at a boutique municipal law firm in downtown Vancouver, advising local governments on procurement and construction matters and representing them in disputes, including construction and other commercial contract disputes. She articled at a civil litigation law firm, where she gained advocacy experience through frequent appearances before the Supreme Court of British Columbia. 

Marcela completed a Juris Doctor and a Master of Laws at the University of British Columbia. She is a member of the Municipal Law and Construction Law sections of the BC Branch of the Canadian Bar Association.

Outside of the office, Marcela enjoys spending time with her family, reading classic literature and skiing.
