Amy's Biography

Amy joined Young Anderson as an associate in June of 2019. Her practice focuses on freedom of information and privacy laws, council codes of conduct and governance, and workplace investigations. She represents clients in proceedings before the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner (“OIPC”) and provides strategic advice to public bodies on their access and privacy obligations. Amy works with local governments and elected officials to support good governance, including in the creation and application of codes of conduct, and by offering workshops on governance and ethical obligations or access and privacy. As an investigator, Amy is committed to conducting neutral investigations and following a fair and thorough process that promotes a respectful and safe workplace.

Amy acted as legal counsel for the OIPC in 2024, taking a temporary leave from the firm to deliver comprehensive legal advice to the Information and Privacy Commissioner and his delegates on emerging matters relating to access, privacy and lobbying.

Before she was called to the bar of British Columbia in May 2019, Amy articled with a national firm in Vancouver, gaining experience in a wide range of practice areas. She obtained her Juris Doctor from Thompson Rivers University in 2018.

Outside of the (Kelowna) office, Amy can be found on the ski hill, at the lake, or at her favorite craft breweries.
